I have read a few strictly science fiction books in which the technology is present and accounted for. They did not go into too many details about how the machines worked. Then again, there are others that would not stop telling us how it worked or what it does. Which of the two do you prefer? Do you like to know what the machine does and how it works?
I have to write a 15 page paper on a technological privacy issue of my choosing. I have chosen to write about computer user privacy issues and laws in regards to "Data brokers" (acxiom, choicepoint, etc...), the Government, and the RIAA. I want to report on ways in which each of these entities jepordise your privacy via the internet, and monitoring your computer. I can find almost nothing on Data Brokers? I am looking for books, articles, or anything on them. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great.
New cell phones, when you finally understand the features of the old one, new DVD players with a new confusing set of instructions, upload this, download that...I asked a question about appliances, and there seemed to be a divide by age on the answers. It seemed that younger people were in control ,and completely comfortable with technology...and a few older people including myself... admitted to frustration. What do you do to keep up with the changes?
