I need to convert a mass amount of videos to a DVD compatible/Windows XP compatible format. I need a program that can do this quickly. I am using Sonic MyDVD. (And Windows XP)It supports the following file types:MPEG1,2.4 AVI, Quicktime, Media Center TV Show, Windows Media VideoMy files are in AVI right now, but when I tried putting them on the DVD, they had the wrong codecs. I need a more generic codecs, so I figure converting is a better solution. (I would prefer to convert to Quicktime or MPEG4, since they seem to be the most supported)

So you went out and bought a HD DVD player did you? Well you may have to send it to the same museum that houses the Sony Betamax. It seems that Warner Bros. studio, Hollywood's largest seller of DVD's is backing Blu-Ray's format exclusively-meaning that 70-80% of Hollywood content will now be released in Blu-Ray format. This may well signal the beginning of the end for rival HD DVD. R.I.P. $

I have a bunch of cassettes from years ago, and I hate for them to go to waste. And I'd rather not purchase those albums again. What are my options for importing and converting these cassettes to digital format? I'd like to be able to play this music on an iPod.I have a tape deck, which plays the cassettes. I have access to PCs running both Windows XP and Windows Vista. I also have access to a DVD recorder / VCR combo unit (which I use to transfer old VHS tapes to DVD).Thanks for your help with this!
