This is interesting, no? A car that can go over 200 miles per liter....

Dimview09:

Now were talking, how cool is that?

2 Cents:

Thanks, BMC, I though it was pretty cool, too. And a bit safer than a motorcycle, and much more amenable to drive in the rain or snow.

?mom?:

yeah it is but it sure is small!! not a family sedan is it

2 Cents:

Well, mom, don't you think that it would be a good car to drive to work? I used to wish I had one one of those MR2's to drive to work. It was small, and that gas adds up, even on a 5 mile commute. The funny thing is that should I have used the bus, I would have had to transfer once, and it would have taken me 3 times as long to get to work than the drive.
Save the family sedan for family activities. I had a small pickup for a while to drive to work, and then a big old 4 door car for the family excursions.

Literally Speaking ™:

I get almost 58mpg city and the bike cost less than 6 grand new.

:o)

Rettag:

can you tote the family groceries and kids around? yeah, that's what I thought...BIKES are for the young, foolish and selfish lifestyle :0)
(no offense)

Literally Speaking ™:

I can put plenty of things on my bike, it has a passenger seat as well as saddle bags and a new trunk that holds 2 full sized helmets +

If I need to carry anything more I ask the wife to pick it up on her way home, she has an SUV lol.

Literally Speaking ™:

Young at heart maybe, I am almost 43 and I see plenty of white haired people riding bikes all the time as far as selfish goes, who would I be selfish to? Myself perhaps if I did not LIVE life rather than worry about things I have no control over, besides I'm worth more dead to my family than alive if something should happen, I have over a quarter mil in life insurance and my wife is the beneficiary, so I'm still selfish ehh?

2 Cents:

I was 40 when I got a motorcycle. My kids were grown, and all except were gone, and I figured he could manage with his dad should I die. I stopped riding at age 45 or so, because the Seattle weather is not really conducive to riding in the rain

Literally Speaking ™:

I don't like to ride in the rain but have a rain suit just incase.

:o)

Career_dave:

i'd rather pay high gas prices than to drive that P.O.S.!!!!

2 Cents:

LOL, puddingtang. I don't blame you at all. But for a commuter vehicle, I think it is great. I tried the shared ride thing, and that didn't work out at all.
