McCain fights to end wars in Iraq, Gitmo, Congress, and the Budget table. What's Obama fighting for?

John McCain argued for years to get the controlled results we now see in Iraq (..now 14 times fewer deaths!) ..He has long fought for proper detainee treatment in Gitmo. This election day, he now fights to end the party wars in Congress, and to get proper treatment of the American taxpayers at the Budget table. Sen. Obama is an intelligent, highly successful student, ..but what is he fighting for this election day?
Peter:

The veterans at the RNC Convention does not account for the whole population of veterans. When you really think about it, nobody's perfect but you got to figure: the Republicans had a good 8 years to get it together.

Peter:

And, he's not a student, He graduated from one of the best law schools in the country.

CalCarp:

I notice you couldn't say what Sen. Obama is fighting for.

Sheldon:

Not sure, but he's got 12 days to decide.

CalCarp:

..he IS smart! ..a good student!!, ..has he learned to raise his hand to his heart for the national anthem yet?

Maggie:

CalCarp, no one said you are required to put your hand over your heart for the pledge or the anthem.

It's not even required in schools.

CalCarp:

The United States Code (Fed Law) says "You shall put your hand over your heart". School children are not punished if they don't know or respect Fed law, ..you are right, ..but we are not talking about Fifth Graders here, ..We are talking about the President of the United States. The President should know Fed Law, and insist on showing proper respect.

Sheldon:

Um, actually, I am one of the FEW people in school who stands up, puts their hand over their heart and actually says the Pledge anymore. And as for the national anthem, no, I am not an American hating liberal, I do put my hand over my heart.

Maggie:

Do either of you know what Americans used to do for the pledge?

The same salute Hitler used.

It was changed obviously because of negative connotations.

If Obama had not of stood up, then I would consider that disrespectful. Putting his hand over his heart is not disrespectful, if anything, it shows he is free-minded and willing to change things.

Nowadays if the little flag-pin isn't on your suit, you're a commie. Idiotic system we have here.

Sheldon:

And do you know what the swastika used to mean?

Maggie:

The Swastika has been used very extensively throughout history. It only received a negative connotation thanks, again, to Nazi Germany.

I am quite aware that my belief, Buddhism, has used the swastika extensively in the past.

Zoo:

To become the first INHALING democratic president.

Zoo:

that way it isn't a race thing.

Me:

Mccain is fighting for his political life nothing else..
Obama is fighting for the middle class

CalCarp:

how?

CalCarp:

Your pic says "Don't vote McCain" but doesn't say why. My pic of the Senator refusing to respect the national anthem, ..but who now says he wants to be President, ..at least gives the reason why I could never vote that way. I actually think America has done a lot of good in the world, ..that our founders were courageous people, ..and that we have a long way to go to match their hard work and determination. Did you know that we give more foreign aid, and accept-in more refugees, than any other nation in the world? I happen to think America is still the best leader-to-freedom in the world, and I hope we remember to keep up that work, not "change" to somebody's idea that they have "in-their-pocket", and just "cross our fingers" that this guy knows what he is talking about! Is Sen. Obama here to "save the poor", and "save the middle class"? How is he going to do that? Does he have something more than just "lets find some rich people and tax them?" Are there enough "rich people" to tax?

Sonnamae:

Sorry, McCain has proved he puts America first. It's his whole life story.
obama has no story, only misty lies, and secrets' Why would he Fight for the middle class? He is a milllionaire," I see mist again" and I really can't see how he earned it all in so little time. The 'jobs' he has held don't pay that kind of cash.
Someone or something is behind him, and it is this 'something' that will win on Nov. 4 if he is elected.

CalCarp:

That "something behind him" is the group: Democrat Congress (Biden, Pelosi, Schumer, Rangel, ...Kennedy! ..who want unlimited freedom to spend money to buy votes), the sellers of "voting units" (Unions, government businesses, social service groups), Wall Street (..who control "scares", and money!), and the Harvard lawyers (and ACLU) who hope to pack the Supreme Ct. with their picks for the upcoming judgeships. (This year those lawyers won a case which said it was an unconstitutional infringement of "free speech" to tell a lawyer he should not advise his client to go out a buy a lot of expensive stuff just before he filed for bankruptcy!) Yes, these people want Obama, ..not McCain. McCain does not play those games!

Muttin':

To Socialize

Maggie:

*gasp* totally unexpected of you.

You must know how propaganda works, because you say the same things everytime.

Muttin':

Because ITS CLEAR AS DAY and you are a communist and you have even told me so. I will die fighting against communists like the rest of the people that died fighting for this country. Go away you bumb. I have given you enough attention.

Maggie:

You're a mean and selfish person, Conservative. No wonder the world dislikes us.

Peter:

Socializers need love too. :)

CHEECH:

Obama should spend some time proving himself as a Senator or something, so we can see a record and see what he really does stand for and not just talk about.

CalCarp:

..he did "take a stand" the other day, ..he proposed a tax plan he said would "spread the wealth".

Maggie:

... and that is BAD? Are you people so selfish as to not want betterment for all?

CalCarp:

Monk, ..are you a supporter of the "freeworld"? ..Are you happiest when the "freeworld" grows, to benefit of others? ..What is the most important trait of the "freeworld"?

Maggie:

Brotherhood.

Something our current society (and world for that matter) lacks.

CalCarp:

Thank you, that is good, and proper, ..I myself help my brothers whenever I can, and they often help me. None of us, though, will reach into another's pocket.

Maggie:

END WARS??

WHAT ARE YOU READING??

HE WANTS TO KEEP TROOPS THERE!!!

You McCainiacs aren't very informed. Country first, People last, right McCainiacs?

Obama is fighting for the middle class, unlike McCain. He himself will see benefits from his own tax proposition. (read: he's rich and has no idea what it is to be a middle-class "joe six-pack".)

Muttin':

You have no idea what it means to be middle class do you. you are a lazy bumb and trying to profit off this Obama crap. I don't even give money to bumbs anymore because of beggars like you. You are a communist and you even said so yourself the other night. You are worse than Obama. Obama is looking for recruits like you.

Maggie:

Conservative, you are a loony.

Keep spitting your baseless rhetoric while ignoring the issues with your own beliefs.

CalCarp:

Our country IS our people, ..and John McCain puts us first, just as he put others before him in the line to get out of the Vietcong's POW camp. Do you deny he put others first there? ..ahead of himself? ..ahead of "an easy way out"? There are too many instances where a President must have the fortitude to refuse "the easy way out", ..and to put aside a "quick and convenient" benefit to a much larger suffering. John McCain knows the full extent of the worldly experiences many global citizen's share, and from which most of us have been protected from our entire lives. The citizens of the world need someone like John McCain, who has been in that position too many of the world's population suffers. He understands, ..he knows that experience in his heart of hearts. We need him, also: He can tell us where those roads are, where they lead, and what happens there. With his experience, the "wars" in Congress should be a piece of cake, right?

.......:

Rhetoric and name calling. Classy. And clueless about economic realities too.

Maggie:

Been reading your daily propaganda I see.

Orb, I'm only clueless as to how any thinking person can honestly support McCain.

If you think "loony" is name-calling, try rereading the numerous times Conservative has called me and many other people names. :)

.......:

Most likely the labels applied were very accurate. Thus far, there is nothing but tiresome ranting with wilted pom-poms.

Maggie:

Ah... they're "labels" when someone who thinks like you says them.

How quaint.

Sonnamae:

To get the title of First Lady for Michelle

CalCarp:

I am sure Mrs. Obama works hard for her family, but she is not running, and I hope she gets to keep her peace.

.......:

Hey, then maybe she can be mocked on SNL? Or even appear in public and be able to answer questions from the press. Not going to happen.

.......:

Absolute power.

Peter:

Obama is fighting for a better life in this country for all of the American people not just the rich. Apparently, John McCain has not argued enough because people are still dying in Iraq and who really knows for sure if detainees in Gitmo are really being treated that properly ? The American people may not find out because a lot of the actions that are implemented may not be disclosed. Actually, I'm not really sure how much help McCain has been to to the American tax payers at the budget table. He does not appear to be that in touch with the American taxpayers regarding the budget, at least not for the poor and lower middle class people in this country. I'm guessing that the wealthy people in this country would benefit if he wins this election. Also, as far as helping the military, McCain scored a D on the veterans score card whereas Obama scored a B. So, he may not be helping the veterans as much as people think he is.

CalCarp:

How does Sen. Obama bring us a "better life"? ..What has he said HE is "fighting for" to get us there? On Iraq, John McCain did not start that war, nor was he Commander in Chief when Saddam Hussein challenged us "to do something about it", when he refused to abide United Nations resolutions. I believe that if McCain had been our President at that time, Saddam would have been more convinced of our ability to stand firm for the U.N.'s resolutions and inspections. You then "guess" on a number of other things, ..and then list a "poll figure" gotten from some "veterans", ..but you did not state which of the 50 or more "Veterans Groups" you are looking at. Was it "Veterans Against All Wars"? ..Who was this group? ..I saw a large number of Veterans in the audience at McCain's Presidential Convention.

Nicole:

I believe Obama fights to put the United States back on track, by fixing the mess that was left my the republican party.

CalCarp:

..again, ..What "track" does Sen. Obama want us to use as our road, ..and what does the "city" look like that he wants to take us to? ..What is the "mess" that he is trying to blame on McCain? ..if Sen. Obama can not explain these things now, ..how can he explain America's concern's to the next Saddam Hussein?

LlLLlANSLlLLlES:

Where was McCain when we needed an accounting of the POW's and MIA's in Viet Nam? Why did he vote with Bush to cut veterans benefits? Where was the "Maverick" when we needed oversight of the banking industry? Where was he when Bush wanted to invade Iraq without confirmed intelligence that they had "Weapons of Mass Destruction"? He voted with Bush 90% of the time for tax cuts for the wealthy. I don't see where he puts people "first". He most certainly doesn't put the "Common People" first.

CalCarp:

I see not one "fact" in your statement. Your "feelings" are fine, .."feelings" are powerful, though. Where was McCain? ..he was in a room with 00 other Senators arguing all the issues that you bring up. McCain could only vote, ..and only accomplish what was available from that environment. McCain stands by his votes, ..most of which you distort.

CalCarp:

.."99 others" that is! ..and Iraq was invaded because Saddam had refused to allow the U.N. inspectors entry into Iraq, when those inspectors were following U.N. orders to go find that very "comfirmations" you desire, ..which would have decided the question of whether Iraq was still developing, manufacturing, and intending to once-again use weapons of mass destruction. You also say McCain voted to cut veteran's benefits, ..when, where, how? ..do you have any fact there?

John P:

hisself

CalCarp:

"Wanting to be President" is a noble choice of endeavor, ..but it is OUR choice which candidate should get that responsibility. Good luck in choosing!
