Have yard sales increased in your community. Economist are telling of yard sales on the rise.

It is so sad that people have to do desperate things to live. Many look forward to these sales-I myself will pass.
Sly:

thanks Waco-last there in 1959-serviceman

Weyana:

Yes lots of yard sales, and then empty houses with stickers on the front door. There is also an increase in requests for assistance at the food pantries

Sly:

signs of the times-WOW-many thanks

Live QnA Team:

I have seen a bunch in Ohio... it seems every time I take a turn I see a sign

Sly:

Same here in Maryland-thanks-Real

Sly:

Good Point grammaw-yes-god provides in many ways-thanks

Sly:

thank you muttin-what part of the country is this?

Wanttoknowsal:

There have been ones going on. The highway department took signs from some of these and said people can not post a sign on private property. Weird!

Sly:

Hummm-weird indeed-what state is this in-thanks

Nat*lee 24/7:

We hired an auctioneer! We selling the entire household and moving out of our foreclosed house, thank you Democrats! Barney Franks! Nancy Pelosi! Obama's lies about the $700 B "must" be written to help the man on Main Street!

If this guy Obama happens to win the election, we are all in deep kimchee!

Sly:

So sorry to hear that -I hope for better times for you and yours. PEACE

Nat*lee 24/7:

GASP! And yesterday I saw the proposed billing if the auctioneer does it vs. us selling the stuff on eBay or Craig's list or holding our own garage sales....! After our entire house of 4 bedrooms are sold he said we could expect to clear about $1,000 !!!!!!!

Back to the drawing board! ...but without the auctioneer!

Nat*lee 24/7:

p.s. did I mention we could save $1,000 on our heating bill this coming winter by chopping up the household goods for firewood!?!?!?!?

Nacnudrium:

I think we are only noticing them more because we are looking for signs of depression. If there are more out there is the reality of what can one really expect from having a yard sale that would save them from bankruptcy vs a short term fix, putting goff the inevitable. Our local realtors put us in the fix we are in. The price of homes went up without the knowledge that persons income did not match the raise in costs. Local realtors saw dollar signs and did not think of the repercussions

Sly:

Are we looking for signs of depression or are they staring us in the face? Thanks Mele

Weyana:

Staring us in the face

Bryan:

I've actually noticed a decrease recently which is normal for this time of year.

Sly:

thanks for your reply-Vernee

Stonecold:

Our home owners association permits only one neighborhood yard sale per year - But I enjoy going to yard sales elsewhere.

Sly:

Okay and thanks LenaParke
