The $700,000,000,000 bail out - enough to buy 14,000,000 Rolls-Royces.....IF it does not succeed

NOT work, will we be worse off than not having attempted anything at all?
Muttin':

Life Support doesn't cure the problem either. It will fail eventually.

Chris:

NO. Scared ? Tuck tail and run OFickle One. The rest of us will do just fine

Literally Speaking ™:

Do you want to buy a home or a car anytime in the future?

If you do, then this bailout as the media calls it will allow you to do so, if they stop it from happening, then you will be on a CASH ONLY basis.

It's NOT a BAILOUT, it's a loan, read the fine print for more info.

Maggie:

"This is a staggering thought. Someone has to borrow every dollar in circulation, cash or credit. We are completely dependent on commercial banks. If the banks create ample synthetic money, we are prosperous; if not, we starve. We are, absolutely, without a permanent money system. When one gets a complete grasp of the picture, the tragic absurdity of our hopeless position is almost incredible, but there it is." - Robert Hemphill, Credit Manager, Federal Reserve Bank, Atlanta

This "bail out" is not going to help in the long-term. The entire banking system itself is at fault. The money in our possession is not value, it is debt. In case you didn't realize, if we do not have debt; we do not have money. That is how our system works. Our money is not based on any real value, other than the promise to repay it in loans or mortgages.

Yes, this system will eventually crash. Enjoy it while it lasts....
