Ginger

Why are the republicans having a hissy fit?

The democrats have a plan to improve our ailing economy. The republicans have nothing but their ability to criticize.
Ginger:

I usually find better sources of information than cartoons.

.......:

Oh yeah. The White House site! Too funny. Not much truth to be found there. And... it's a comment, not an answer! Enjoy your hissy fit.

LUVAnimals4Evr:

why are the Democrats throwing money at all of our problems? Have you not seen that 20/20 Video of YouTube? www.tinyurl.com/bailouts33 Geez... stop asking such questions on QNA

MaggieD:

Hissy fit?? HISSY FIT???!!!! Oh, okay, I get it. Republicans are having a hissy fit because they LOST and lost BIG.

President Obama is doing the best he can. We will never know, really, if it was right....we'll only know if it fails. I don't agree with everything he's doing; but he's making just enough RIGHT calls on other things that I'm cutting him slack.

Ginger:

Hi MaggieD. One way or the other I think we will see the results. I have been watching the retail trade, available credit, and new jobless claims. The total unemployment is a lagging indicator, but new claims is a more up to date indicator.

Watch the GDP. It probably will not be positive for awhile but the drop should slow.

MaggieD:

That would be a goooood thing. I don't think most people REALLY understand what it would mean for our economy to totally implode. Right now, many MANY people don't notice anything....that would most certainly change...

LadyB:

well if you go by the popular vote they really didn't loose "big." Subtract for voter fraud and heavens knows how close it really was.

?:

We'll do that if we go back and subtract for voter fraud in Bush's two terms.

Bewitched:

Thanks you a a. ECAB, don't even talk voter fraud. You will embarrass yourself.

.......:

ACORN. Their motto "Let the dead vote twice."

?:

My new phrase for the day is: "Where Were They Then". For a group that is so energetic and "Patriotic", they did nothing while Bush dug a 6 foot hole in the ground for the economy to lie in. Like I've been saying all day, it's all a puppet show.. great for a laugh, because there is hardly any substance.

.......:

Put the blame where it belongs -- lack of oversight on Fanny and Freddie and Clinton from his CRA in 1995. And be sure to thank the key players in this game... who are still on the inside including Barney Frank and Rahm Emanuel.

Ginger:

You are changing the subject again.

Texan:

Just like the Democrats did in 2000.

Ginger:

@Texan Were not the democrats the majority in 2000? Did not they go along with the republican TARP plan?

Bewitched:

You really buy that, don't you,...........?

One Twisted Child:

How is expressing disagreement throwing a "Hissy fit"? When all the Democrats were trashing Bush, was that a "Hissy Fit" as well? Come on, let's be real. Political dissent is American as apple pie, why is it ok for one group and not the other? Turnabout is fair play, don't you agree?

?:

And where were these "patriots" then OTC? (Hey OTC!!).
No. Survival of the fattest.
*North American United Statesian not "American".
America, which can be further divided into North, Central and South is not a country!!! Say it like you mean it!

Trina:

Yes....yet the main hissy fitters are ones that are constant "hissy fitters" (thinking of the main media driven "leaders" of dissent) and all they do is inflame everyone without offering any solution....just thriving on the emotional turmoil...until someone "snaps". That is indeed a hissy fit.

Dissent just for the sake of it is a hissy fit...no matter which side one is on.

One Twisted Child:

Poor sweet little a™a, still trying to label me and fit me into a nice neat little box. Good luck with that. As many found out recently, my political leanings are far more liberal than one would think. The only difference between you and I is the fact that I can see the good and bad in all directions, not just those I oppose.

Ginger:

Thank you for your answer. I was referring to the stubborness of the republican party in general. Those republicans that we sent to congress.

One Twisted Child:

You are correct Trina, I was simply making a point, however it would appear you are the only one who understood said point. :)

SULLY:

He doesn't know you are an "enigma!"

One Twisted Child:

Ginger you know as well as I do they are just as stubborn and pigheaded as the Dems have been. One is no different from the other once you get right down to it. They all have personal agendas which are not in line with what is best for the nation as a whole. We haven't had a Government that is in a very very long time.

One Twisted Child:

He just likes to swat at me Elexa, I enjoy it, it entertains me :) :)

?:

There is a different between what I admit and what I understand.... ;)
<-- does not label people.
By the way.. yes I have noticed a change in you for the better (leftward political leanings). Congratulations!
As for my ability to reason, it's still in tact! I merely choose to pick a side to argue from rather than being squashed in the middle (I like debate/conflict).
You can't hide forever OTC!

?:

*Same DifferenTS

Ginger:

@OTC I have lived through more administrations than I care to remember. I have never seen such a bitter rivalry. Even the Gingrich gang was more cooperative. Did ot the democrats cooperate with the TARP plan?

One Twisted Child:

a™a, How could you notice a change? My politics, belief's and ideals have remained the same for many many years. Try again please :)
As for picking a "side" so to speak, Have no worry, I hold definitive positions on all issues]/b], I simply do not feel the need to have a "party" tell me what to think, what to believe, nor how to vote. I am perfectly capable of making those decisions on my own.
Frankly I am not the one hiding. I say what I mean and back up everything that I say with logic, reason and credible evidence.

One Twisted Child:

Oops, sorry about the bold, I am a horrid typist :)

One Twisted Child:

I agree this "rivalry" is fairly nasty, compared to others. However it won't be the last. At least not until the electorate wakes up and gets rid of all the bums.

?:

Shh...
A secret..
(I'm not politically affiliated!)
I simply call em when I see them and this whole uprising, as ginger put it best, is a hissy fit. :)

LadyB:

A, you may not be politically affiliated, but it's painfully obvious to see where you sit.

?:

That reminds me of a classic Metallica song.
Like I said, I find most of my beliefs in tune with theirs, but I also have disagreements. I, kind sir, am not a democrat.

.......:

I vote watching Pelosi's talking points take root via the handmaidens in the press and echoed down the line.

LadyB:

I didn't say you were a Democrat, I pointed out you are clearly biased.

Gray wolf:

Because the old tried and true tactics of using hate and divisiveness are not working for them. They can only solidify their base as this point but nothing to expand their party unless they come up with solutions instead of criticisms. Their alternative budget was nothing more than a farce to say they have one and even it was higher than President Obama's budget.

?:

It's their motto: Division and Diversion!!

Ginger:

Thank you for your answer. So you think that it is desperation?

Gray wolf:

@ ginger yes

Ginger:

It does appear that way.

Trina:

I've noticed it's a time of great emotional turmoil...and this is manifesting itself in anger, fear, and even (in some cases) downright paranoia. Hopefully things will smooth over and cooler heads will prevail.

For the most part I think the anger feeds on itself...one person cries out and others willingly listen and agree emotionally rather than logically. It's the time when it's sort of easy to see who has "lost it" and who is maintaining.

?:

Emotion... UGHHH.. :D

Ginger:

Thank you for your answer, Trina. I agree that there is a lot of venom lately. Imagine how much better we could do with cooperation.

SULLY:

Agreed Miss T.........it is primarily a psychological process they will come out of it
if Obama's policies work. The problem is not knowing. Uncertainty is difficult for all of us.

Trina:

Truly...and these are indeed uncertain times. Just gotta remember to breathe in and out!

?:

Meditate... Ohmm

SULLY:

.....is the bow, the arrow is the soul.........

LadyB:

Couldn't be more wrong.

Trina:

I'm wrong about emotional turmoil going on right now? I beg to differ ECAB

Rick:

your right of course. That is why i'm closing my business with 103 employees June 13th. I will not be able to operate a business with the governmental constraints. And our fiscal year closes on the 13th

?:

Are they republican employees?

Ginger:

I'm sorry to hear that. What constraints are limiting your business?

Rick:

fees, user and local taxes have gone up like crazy. I buy rehab and sell 150 homes a year. Most homes are low income homes in the 35 to 60 thousand range. New Orleans has added a environmental cleanup fee of 70 thousand per property. Many area have done the same.

?:

What are you doing buying houses in New Orleans for 35-60000? That result, my friend, comes with the territory.

Ginger:

Darn. Sounds like a excellent business model, but at the wrong time. My cousin made his fortune doing the same thing in Maryland, but back in the 80's and 90's. He sold the business and retired a success.

Maybe later you can start back up. You know how to do it.

Rick:

don it for 2 years, grew the company to 103 people, made 3 million in profit last year. IRS gets over a third of that.

Texan:

The declining economy and increasing unemployment since the Democrats won office really show that the plan is working.

Ginger:

The decline of the economy is decreasing. Over half of the leading economic indicators have improved. The credit market is beginning to improve as indicated by a 20% increase in small business loans. Total unemployment is a lagging indicator. The economy improves before employment increases. On the other hand, new jobless claims last week dropped by 53,000. The Dow and the S&P are up over 20% in the last month.

?:

Because that's all they've got.

Ginger:

Thank you for your answer. That is how it appears to me. They consistently tear apart the democrat plan, but have nothing constructive to offer.

?:

You just have to look at who ran to back this up as soon as it started. They are all right wingers (sorry libertarians no credit for you in my response muahaha), and hypocritical politicians who have had more than their fair share of ripping of the government. Take Rick Perry for example, telling "The U.S." they aren't going to be pushed around anymore. That's hilarious.. he IS them!!
Somewhere, someone (besides me) is about to have a heart attack cracking up at all these staged and overly dramatic political games (Both sides are guilty, but one more so than the other, you guess :D)

BUD 28:

Whose turn it is to have a hissy fit is unimportant to us unimportant old Independents. Its a constant struggle to find a Democrat or Republican that is worth their salt.

?:

That is the point of analysis. Hang in there/NEVER GIVE UP :D

Ginger:

Thank you for your answer. I would like to think that there are worthy members of both parties. Members who would put country before party.

?:

I hope so, I haven't seen very many politicians that I like in any party. But most views and what they SEEM to push for, I have to admit, keeps me closer to the democrats than anything. Put simply, I didn't get the tattoo, but just so happens most of what I believe in agrees with their political face.

Ginger:

@A A There are some I like in both parties and some I dislike in both parties.

DJ:

They aren't having a "hissy fit." The GOP is merely lost and leaderless.
Too bad that they are wasting precious time.

?:

Yes... after all, the GOP is "precious".
Gang Of Persecutors??

Gray wolf:

That is a good thing. I just wish they would pause bottom until election time.

Ginger:

Thank you for your answer, Their negativity is certainly not making anything better.

LadyB:

Wood the best thing that can come from this is a third party. That's what has certain folks completely mortified.

?:

Hmm I always thought there were 4 parties.

.......:

The answer... burn through trillions without any accountability. Now who was the candidate that promised line-by-line review of all bills and accounting for every dollar the government spent? Oh yeah. He's redefining spend and spend, then tax and tax.

LadyB:

If you mean the folks in congress and the house, maybe just maybe, it's because their constituents don't support Obama's policies. Maybe they themselves do not support his policies. Either rate, since when is congress supposed to just fall in lock step with an Administration? Since when is dissent between Congress and the President grounds for defamation? Sorry they and alot of people in this country don't agree with you in the least that these "plans" will improve our economy in the least - and infact believe that they are designed simply to move further away from a free market, which you cannot deny they already have, towards something other than capitalism.

Ginger:

Thank you for your answer. So far I have seen nothing that is moving us away from capitalism. There is nothing coming out of the republican members of congress but stubborn resistance (3 exceptions). The leading economic indicators ar already showing signs of progress.

LadyB:

Things moving away from capitalism:
1) Bush's bailout
2) Bush's bailout of the big three
3) Obama's bailout
4) Obama's creation of a health czar
5) Obama's firing of GM's CEO
6) Obama's fixing salaries at private companies
...
Do I really need to go on Ginger?

Ginger:

Sometimes we need temporary fixes. That does not mean we are destroying capitalism. President Truman nationalized the railroad, but that did not end capitalism. Then there was the resolution trust in the 80's, but capitalism survived with no problem. Reagan bailed out Chrysler, but we still had capitalism.

When something is broken, you fix it.

SST:

do you really think this is a party issue. I don't think it has anything to do with the parties, I think it is the puppet master we should be blaming, not the puppets, the puppets are brainless in any party and prove it time and time again...

Ginger:

Thank you for your response.
