Q about dividend reinvestment plans..

I have a friend who works for a public company. He can buy shares of the company for a 15% discount. If I were to give him $1000 to buy shares at the discounted price, would it be illegal for him to transfer them to me so I can flip them for full price? Thanks

It wouldn't be illegal if it were a gift, however if someone found out you gave him money or other assets for the stock you'd be in some deep s---. Otherwise it is illegal.

Yes it would be illegal.

Globally Interested:

When he buys the shares they are his to do with as he wishes. He can sell them to you or anybody else he chooses. He can sell them at market price or transfer them as a gift.
