Cooking/Health Question!! Can you help me?

i'm baking chicken for dinner tonight. if i don't take the skin from the chicken i usually bake it until it is crispy at 350*. i was wondering if this eliminates all, most, or some of the cholesterol in the skin?
Russ:

The bulk of fat, including cholesterol, is in the skin.

Pattie:

yeah it is. just wonder how much is actually there if baked to a crisp. thnx for answering.

?mom?:

gee rayne I really dont know... I guess if you dont eat the skin you wouldnt have to worry about it...

Pattie:

yeah, you do have a point there mom. every once in a while i like to eat it. just wondering about that. my hubby don't want it at all. thnx for answering.

Linda:

Cooking it with the skin on cause the meat fat to soak into the chicken intself. Its really not healty at all!

Linda:

If you want a crispy coat its better to skin it, coat it in a egg/milk dip and bake it in a coating mix. You can buy one already prepared or use crumbled cereal like corn flakes or cheerios with some salt (provided you're blood pressure is not an issue and still should be used in moderation) pepper and whatever other spices you like. They have good recipes for rubs online which are really good for baking chicken and can be used with the crumbled cereal as well.

Linda:

Actually there's a recipe on the Cheerios site (I use their site but get the cheaper generic versions of the cereal!) for honey mustard chicken nuggets I think. You may like that.

Pattie:

great idea! never thought about taking the skin off and dipping into egg/milk. when i try that i will surely let you know how we liked it. thnx.

Linda:

The egg milk dip is what holds the coating mix on to the chicken.

Pattie:

hi there linda! so glad that you are on right now. i have baked chicken tonight using your idea. haven't eaten yet. it smells so good. will fill you in later. thnx.
